Character animation is always fun and when Einar Film gave us the opportunity to breath life into the CG head of a teddy bear, we jumped at it. During filming the bear was played by a young boy in a suit, but in order to portray the bond between the boy and the bear the film needed more emotions than could be drawn from a stuffed head.
We made a CG head replacement for the bear that was beautifully animated by our animators. One challenge in the digital head was to mimic the way light interacted with the artificial fur of the bear suit, but this was handled by our shading and lighting department. We are very pleased with the outcome and we were very happy to be able to help Einar Film realise this touching film.
