Nominated for a VES Award for Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature, MPC crafted over 220 VFX shots, working closely with director Joachim Rønning. Under VFX Supervisor Jeremy Robert and VFX Producer Roy Khalil, artists enhanced calm water plates with digital ocean replacements, capturing the intensity of Trudy Ederle’s English Channel swim. They also created a tense jellyfish sequence, seamlessly integrating CG creatures with live-action to heighten the drama. Close collaboration with the filmmakers ensured every shot aligned with Rønning’s vision.
Young Woman and the Sea is now streaming on Disney+.
